I wasn't gonna let him hurt you again.
He sees the moisture run down her cheek and it makes him ache.
When she scrubs at her face he steps closer, reaching for her hand.
"Hey."
He lifts his hand to touch her cheek, the one without the faint bruising left from Ramon's hand.
"We're alright."
Through luck and help, but they each survived.
