Ramon did the one thing Bill wouldn't tolerate: he'd threatened her.
A tear slips down one cheek and she takes in a slow, shuddering breath, tasting salt.
"Sit back down, okay? I -- I've got this, I just need to run downstairs for more sugar. I'm sorry I ruined -- um."
She glances at the broken dispenser and scrubs a hand over her face.
